A series of scrapbooks largely inspired by members of the Collingtree Women's Institute, were produced first in 1953 and then in 1965, 1977 and 1982. The text, illustrations and photography,  were all provided by local volunteers and are a unique record of how local people lived, the interests they had, the weather they experienced, the clothes they wore - and, for the lucky ones, even the cars they drove. Collingtree was originally a farming community and the scrapbooks even tell us what crops were grown in which fields.

The scrapbooks are now in the keeping of The County Records Office at Wootton Hall, Mereway 01604 362513.

The images below from 1965 can only give a flavour of the the detailed content of this fascinating village archive but anyone interested can view all the scrapbooks by arrangement with the County Records Office.
